I herniated the L5-S1 disc in my back. I was in unimaginable pain and couldn't even stand up. While stuck on my back, I researched how to recover from a herniated disc. At first, I followed the Back in Shape program, which helped scale back the pain and get me standing again. But I was still not really functional. I then learned about Low Back Ability and the benefit of back extensions. Not wanting to cut any corners, I ordered a NordBench Pro. As I waited for it to arrive, I continued to make incremental progress. But I was not living my life. Once the NordBench Pro arrived, my spouse set it up and I jumped on it for the first time to do an isometric back extension hold. I was able to hold myself up, so I decided the next day to start the LBA program. That week, I worked up to a 2 minute hold with both legs and then 60 second single leg holds per side. The impact that exercise had was nothing short of transformative. By the end of the week, I was starting to stand, walk, and bend over with confidence. I'm now convinced that my lower back was the weakest spot in my body and what led to the disc herniation in the first place. I believe that if every adult had a NordBench Pro, and did a 2 minute hold once a day on it, back injuries would be much less common. It's so simple, it takes hardly and time, and it can't be done without this machine. That's just the beginning of what you can do with it, from back extensions dips to shoulder dips to the nordic curl. This machine will be part of my daily life for as long as I can rise out of bed. It dug me out of a deep, dark hole and I know it can do the same for others.
